How Viruses Evolve to become a deadly one - Real Facts

Nurses Talk - So many scientist and doctors in the world are working 24 hours finding the cause of a certain epedimic when it happens and once they know the Where it started, their attention will then focus on how it started.  In getting the roots of a certain virus there are many things to consider and sometimes before they could come up a discovery so many experiments are have to be made.  Recently, the scientist at Michigan State University have conducted an experiment and have explained well on how a new virus evolve to become deadly.  The researchers open doors to many debates pertaining to viral mutations and evolution.
The scientists showed for the first time how the virus called "Lambda" evolved to find a new way to attack host cells, an innovation that took four mutations to accomplish. This virus infects bacteria, in particular the common E. coli bacterium. Lambda isn't dangerous to humans, but this research demonstrated how viruses evolve complex and potentially deadly new traits, noted Justin Meyer, MSU graduate student, who co-authored the paper with Richard Lenski, MSU Hannah Distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.  Click here for the complete Article
